Dia Rrhena was a powerviolence band formed by Adrian, Russell and I after the demise of our techdeathcore band Rivals, which never released anything. We enjoyed using numbers as song titles and releasing EPs three songs at a time.

After our second guitarist and vocalist moved back to Brazil, Ren Tyler and I decided to keep the band going. The result was this album, tracked by us in a Garage. Little did we know how fitting the title would become.

Pick and I went to High School together in New York. Shortly after I released Standing, Still he reached out to me and asked if I’d be interested in recording some stuff he had scored for a movie. I said hell yes! Here is the finished product. I’d love to do something like this again.

Guillemet was my first and so far only opportunity to front a band on Vocals. We had the opportunity to play Gnarfest at Swerp Mansion (RIP) and a couple other shows. Our S/T was recorded in Adam’s Basement, live, to 4-Track Cassette, and mastered by me at The Owlery.

I got hooked up with They Face Reaction through mutual friends and was asked to play bass, which I happily obliged. This band got to do a lot of cool stuff including opening for the Smoking Popes at a Riot Fest Secret Show, and recording this album. This album was recorded by Stephen Egerton of the Descendents at his studio in Tulsa, Oklahoma. That was probably one of the best weeks of my life.

JT moved to Seattle and was replaced by Mike Walker of You, Me, and the People (now known as Nature’s Neighbor). We wrote and recorded a bunch more songs but only released these two singles. Someday I think we will release the rest of it in proper fashion.

Cage Match was formed by Adam and I after Do Dnt Spk disbanded. Adam moved to a house on the Northwest Side of Chicago and we set up shop in the Basement. We began writing with Seth and searching for a second guitar player/vocalist – soon finding JT and jump starting the writing process. Taking advantage of the music and recording programs the four of us were enrolled in, these songs were recorded at Columbia College, Wall to Wall (RIP), and Adam’s Basement.

Do Dnt Spk was formed by Adam, Jeff and I after the three of us moved to Chicago. Prior to this band, I had been playing with Adam and Jeff in The Trickle-Down Effect. We played a few shows and disbanded soon after. Adam and I formed Cage Match, and Jeff joined Carbon Tigers with Nick (also of The Trickle Down Effect). These songs were written and recorded in a practice space in Adam and Jeff’s residence hall.
